In response to the competitive threat posed by Apple's in-house modem development, Qualcomm is embracing a strategy of diversification. It is anticipated that Qualcomm's share of modems in Apple's iPhone will plummet from 70% to zero. To mitigate this potential loss, Qualcomm intends to broaden its reach in the Android market, connected car sector, IoT space, and data center businesses. Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon has affirmed that the company has devised a business plan anticipating Apple's full transition to in-house modems, with an ambitious goal of expanding its automotive and IoT revenue from $8.3 billion to $22 billion by 2030.
