A recent research report from Huatai Securities, analyzing preliminary June data released by Xinluo Lithium for the lithium battery industry chain, reveals a positive trend. The battery production schedule for the sampled enterprises reached 107.7GWh, marking a 2.9% increase from the previous month. Cathode material production was scheduled at 133,000 tons, up 9.1% month-on-month; anode material at 117,000 tons, with a modest 0.9% rise; separators at 1.49 billion square meters, up 4.3%; and electrolytes at 76,000 tons, up 6.6%. This slight uptick in the overall production schedule is primarily attributed to the surge in demand for new energy vehicles fueled by trade-in incentives and a renewed export surge in the energy storage sector following the reduction of US tariffs on Chinese goods.

Looking ahead, the sustained rollout of new domestic vehicle models and technologies, coupled with the promising prospects for energy storage markets in Europe, Asia, Africa, and Latin America, is poised to drive sustained improvement in the battery sector's supply and demand dynamics. This favorable environment is expected to help leading battery enterprises enhance their capacity utilization rates and achieve dual growth in both volume and profit margins.
