On June 3, the Lingang Group revealed that its affiliate, Lingang Green Innovation, will undertake the construction of a distributed photovoltaic power generation and energy storage system for Tesla's energy storage superfactory. The project, anticipated to conclude by year's end, marks Shanghai's inaugural large-scale industrial and commercial photovoltaic and energy storage microgrid venture. It will integrate approximately 6 megawatts of photovoltaic systems with 8 megawatt-hours of energy storage systems. Notably, all energy storage units will leverage Tesla's locally manufactured, next-generation Megapack, an ultra-large commercial electrochemical energy storage system produced within Tesla's energy storage superfactory. This advanced system facilitates the direct integration of photovoltaic green energy into the factory, enabling self-generation and self-consumption. Any surplus energy will be automatically stored within the Megapack system and released as required, effectively furnishing the factory with a robust 'massive energy reservoir'.
