Keysight Technologies announced on Tuesday that it has agreed to sell the high-speed Ethernet and other business segments of Spirent Communications to Viavi Solutions, in accordance with an agreement reached with the U.S. Department of Justice. This decision is intended to fulfill antitrust regulatory requirements and pave the way for the seamless completion of Keysight's $1.5 billion acquisition of Spirent Communications. The transaction has already secured several crucial regulatory approvals and is anticipated to conclude in the first half of fiscal year 2025.
With this acquisition, Keysight Technologies will significantly bolster its presence in communications, aerospace, defense, automotive, and other industries, particularly achieving advancements in leading-edge technologies such as 5G, cloud computing, and autonomous driving.
