At a regular press conference on June 3, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lin Jian addressed U.S. accusations against China. The United States has recently alleged that China violated the consensus achieved during the China-U.S. Geneva economic and trade talks and has taken a series of adverse actions. Lin Jian emphasized that the U.S. has maligned and accused China without factual support, implementing extreme repressive measures such as imposing export controls on chips to China, suspending chip design and software sales, and revoking visas for Chinese students. These actions have severely undermined the Geneva consensus and infringed upon China's legitimate rights and interests. China firmly opposes these actions and has made solemn representations. Lin Jian stressed that pressure and coercion are not the appropriate means to engage with China, urging the U.S. to respect the facts, cease spreading misinformation, rectify its erroneous practices, and uphold the consensus between the two countries through concrete actions.
