Samsung has made the decision to prematurely discontinue production of MLC NAND flash memory, informing customers that available supplies will only extend through June. Concurrently, the company is implementing a price hike strategy aimed at curbing demand. Korean firm LG Display (LGD) has also been unable to secure supplies from Samsung and is scrambling to identify alternative providers. Market participants are apprehensive that Samsung's supply cessation will result in a shortage, prompting major manufacturers to actively accumulate stockpiles in order to mitigate potential risks.
