During a meeting held at the Prime Minister's official residence on May 27, Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba emphasized that the impact of US tariff measures on Japanese industries is becoming increasingly pronounced. In light of this, the government has pledged to provide full support to the affected industries. According to the Japan Broadcasting Corporation, several Japanese companies anticipate a decline in profits during the current fiscal year as a direct result of these tariff measures, with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) expressing particular concern over their future prospects. In response to this challenging situation, the Japanese government is actively engaged in discussions to formulate effective countermeasures.
