On Tuesday, TSMC, the world's leading chip foundry, announced that it is currently evaluating the timing for the integration of ASML's High-NA Extreme Ultraviolet (EUV) lithography machines into its future process nodes. Each of these state-of-the-art machines, priced at approximately $400 million, promises enhanced speed and precision. However, TSMC is meticulously considering the balance between their substantial cost and the substantial benefits they offer. Regarding the forthcoming A14 process and its advanced variant, TSMC affirmed that significant advancements can be achieved without the necessity of High-NA equipment.
