TSMC to Launch European Chip Design Hub in Munich, Germany

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), the preeminent contract chip manufacturer globally, intends to establish a state-of-the-art chip design center in Munich, Germany. During a technology seminar, Paul de Bot, the General Manager of TSMC's European operations, unveiled plans for the official inauguration of this design hub in the third quarter of 2025. The objective of this initiative is to bolster European clients in their endeavors to create high-density, high-performance, and energy-efficient chips, catering primarily to the automotive, industrial, artificial intelligence, and Internet of Things (IoT) sectors.
