China's inaugural large-scale lithium-sodium hybrid energy storage facility, the Yunnan Wenshan Baochi Energy Storage Station operated by China Southern Power Grid, has commenced official operations. Spanning an area equivalent to five football fields, this energy storage station boasts an installed capacity of 400 MWh. It is capable of regulating up to 580 million kWh of electricity annually, sufficient to meet the annual electricity demand of 270,000 households, with a remarkable 98% of its power sourced from renewable energy.
