Phison Electronics showcased its latest E28 series client M.2 NVMe Gen 5 controller at COMPUTEX Taipei 2025. This controller leverages a PCIe re-driver and re-timer solution to achieve sequential read speeds approaching an impressive 15 GB/s. Fabricated using TSMC's advanced 6-nanometer process, the E28 controller supports up to 32TB of TLC flash memory, complemented by robust error correction technology and high-speed encryption capabilities.
Phison Electronics boasts that the E28 is the pioneering controller chip to integrate AI processing functions, offering a significant 15% reduction in power consumption compared to its competitors. Mass production of the E28 has already commenced, and PCIe 5.0 solid-state drives equipped with this cutting-edge controller are anticipated to hit the market in the second half of this year.
