China to Bolster R&D and Industrial Nurturing of 5G-Advanced and 6G Technologies

Recently, the 2025 World Telecommunication and Information Society Day, along with the 160th Anniversary Commemoration of the International Telecommunication Union's Founding, was held in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province. During this event, it was highlighted that China stands at the forefront of global development in key technologies and international standards for 5G-Advanced (5G-A), 6G, and other advanced communication technologies. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has outlined plans to expedite research and development (R&D), foster industrial growth, and enhance the application of these technologies, aiming to catalyze the construction of a modern industrial system. By the end of March, China had established an impressive 4.395 million 5G base stations, with 5G applications seamlessly integrated into 86 major sectors of the national economy.
