On May 16, Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Limited (CATL) announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Hong Kong Times New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., will invest $1.5 billion in the overseas private equity fund Lochpine Green Fund I, LP, serving as a limited partner. This fund is specifically dedicated to investments across the upstream and downstream segments of the carbon neutrality industry. Hong Kong Times intends to contribute up to $225 million from its overseas self-owned funds, an allocation that will not disrupt the company's normal production and operational activities.
