China's Power Construction Corporation has successfully completed and commenced full-scale operations of the world's highest-altitude concentrated solar power station – the Zhabuye Source-Grid-Load-Storage Integrated Comprehensive Energy Project in Tibet. Nestled at an altitude of 4,500 meters, this groundbreaking project encompasses a 40-megawatt trough-type concentrated solar power station, a 35-megawatt photovoltaic power station, and a 20-megawatt/40-megawatt-hour energy storage system, thereby setting new benchmarks for both the highest construction altitude and the shortest construction duration. Upon its commencement, the project is anticipated to deliver an annual supply of 258 million kWh of electricity and 264,000 tons of steam to the local community, significantly advancing the development of clean energy and enhancing energy security in Tibet.
