During the 2025 World Telecommunication and Information Society Day event, Zhang Yunming, president of the China Institute of Communications and vice minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, highlighted that China has established world-class information and communication networks. Notably, 5G technology has permeated various sectors of the national economy, and the industrial internet has comprehensively covered major industrial categories. He urged the information and communication industry to take on greater social responsibilities by accelerating digital transformation, bridging the digital divide, and fostering the research, development, and industrial application of 5G-Advanced and 6G technologies. Additionally, he stressed the importance of enhancing global cooperation in digital governance to propel industrial upgrading and economic integration.
