On May 17, the 2025 World Telecommunication and Information Society Day event was held in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province, commemorating the 160th anniversary of the International Telecommunication Union. At this event, Zhang Yunming, Vice Minister of China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and President of the China Institute of Communications, delivered a keynote speech. He underscored the urgency to accelerate the research and development, industrial nurturing, and application development of 5G-Advanced and 6G technologies, aiming to propel the construction of a modern industrial system. Zhang proposed enhancing market access, fostering fair competition, improving credit management, and other systems to facilitate the harmonious development of the industrial chain, foster integration among large, medium, and small enterprises, and cultivate new productive forces. Simultaneously, he stressed the importance of reinforcing cross-regional and cross-industry collaboration in building new network infrastructure, promoting the profound integration of the industrial internet into manufacturing parks, bases, and clusters, and supporting the high-end, intelligent, and green development of the manufacturing sector. Furthermore, Zhang Yunming emphasized the need to deepen international cooperation, strengthen international exchanges in technology, standards, industry, policy, and other fields, and actively engage in global digital governance to better align with the international industrial development landscape.
