Barclays has announced the appointment of Avinash Thakur as the new head of investment banking for the Asia-Pacific region, succeeding Vanessa Koo who is poised to retire. This appointment takes effect immediately, with Thakur relocating to Hong Kong and joining the Asia-Pacific Senior Executive Forum. Thakur, who has been with Barclays since 2011 and previously held the position of head of financing for Asia-Pacific, brings extensive experience to his new role. A bank spokesperson has confirmed the appointment.
