Microsoft has announced that it will be undertaking a reduction in force, impacting 3% of its global workforce across all levels and regions, in response to evolving market conditions. Despite posting financial results that surpassed expectations and issuing optimistic forecasts at the end of April, this round of layoffs will still affect thousands of employees. Currently, Microsoft employs a total of 228,000 individuals worldwide.
