TSMC is set to commence mass production of 2nm process chips in the latter half of this year, boasting a trial production yield exceeding 60%, outperforming initial projections. Samsung, too, is diligently pursuing 2nm technology development, with plans for mass production by the fourth quarter of 2025. However, its current trial production yield stands at 30%, trailing behind TSMC. Concurrently, Intel's Intel 18A process is poised to enter mass production this year, aiming to bridge the technological gap with TSMC. The rivalry among chip foundries for dominance in 2nm processes is heating up.
