SanDisk is pioneering a new high-capacity SSD architecture known as Stargate, a project hailed by CEO David Goeckeler as a "game-changer." This innovative development is anticipated to significantly propel the growth of the enterprise storage sector, particularly when integrated with the company's cutting-edge BiCS 8 QLC NAND flash memory. Goeckeler hinted that the launch of Stargate is imminent. SanDisk, previously a subsidiary of Western Digital, successfully spun off earlier this year. According to SanDisk's roadmap, the company aims to introduce a 128TB solid-state drive this year, followed by a 256TB model in 2026, and an impressive 512TB version in 2027. The ultimate objective is to achieve a storage capacity of 1PB, catering to the burgeoning high-capacity demands of AI enterprises and major technology firms.
