During Intel's Direct Connect conference, the company made an official announcement regarding its Intel 18A process node (a 1.8-nanometer chip process). This advanced technology has now entered risk production and is anticipated to transition into mass production by the close of 2025. Furthermore, Intel has scheduled the next-generation Intel 14A process (1.4-nanometer) for mass production in 2027, one year ahead of TSMC's timeline. Since unveiling its ambitious "Five Nodes in Four Years" plan in 2021, Intel has invested a total of $90 billion globally, with $18 billion dedicated to technology research and development, and $37 billion allocated to wafer fabrication equipment expenditures.
