Samsung Electronics' HBM3E project has recently hit a snag. According to reports, Google, among other clients, is reconsidering its partnership due to the HBM process not meeting industry benchmarks. Initially, Google had planned to integrate Samsung's HBM3E into its self-developed AI server chips. However, Digitimes reveals that these chips failed to obtain NVIDIA certification, prompting Google to shift its allegiance to Micron products. Samsung has declined to comment on customer-related issues, but supply chain insiders have disclosed that Samsung's HBM3E, originally slated for mass shipments to NVIDIA in Q1 2025, is still awaiting certification.
