Despite anticipating losses exceeding 3.2 billion yuan in 2024, TSMC's factory in Arizona, USA, is progressing with its construction plan as planned. The first fab has already initiated mass production of 4nm chips, and the second fab is set to employ 3nm technology. Furthermore, preparations are underway for a third facility, which will specialize in advanced process chips of 2nm and beyond. Despite these initial financial projections, the strong support from customers such as Apple and NVIDIA, coupled with the expansion of production capacity, is expected to gradually propel the factory towards economic viability and mitigate losses.
