Led by researcher Ye Jichun, the silicon-based solar and wide bandgap semiconductor team at the Ningbo Institute of Materials Technology and Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences, has achieved a groundbreaking advancement in perovskite tandem solar cell technology. Their innovative flexible perovskite/CIGS tandem solar cell has attained a remarkable photoelectric conversion efficiency of 23.8% over an area of 1.09 square centimeters, establishing a new world record. The team employed an anti-solvent seed layer strategy to effectively address interface challenges, significantly enhancing the cell's performance, stability, and flexibility. These groundbreaking findings have been published in the prestigious journal Nature Energy.
