According to numerous insiders, Elon Musk's SpaceX, alongside software innovator Palantir and drone manufacturer Anduril, is poised to clinch the bid to develop critical components for U.S. President Trump's 'Golden Dome' missile defense system. President Trump unveiled the ambitious plan in March of this year, with the objective of safeguarding the nation against incoming missile threats. The proposal entails deploying a vast constellation of hundreds to thousands of satellites, tasked with detecting and tracking incoming missiles worldwide. It is noteworthy that SpaceX's role will not extend to arming these satellites but rather, they have introduced a 'subscription service' model, wherein the government pays for usage rather than directly acquiring ownership of the system, to expedite deployment.
