Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) has announced an adjustment to its revenue forecast for the first quarter of 2025, citing damage to wafers during production as a result of the recent earthquake and its aftershocks. Consequently, the revenue projection for Q1 2025 has been revised to the lower end of the previously estimated range of $25 billion to $25.8 billion. Preliminary evaluations suggest that the earthquake incurred losses amounting to approximately NT$5.3 billion, which will be reflected in the first-quarter financial report after accounting for insurance claims. Notably, despite this setback, TSMC anticipates maintaining a gross margin of 57% to 59% for the quarter, with an operating margin projected to fall between 46.5% and 48.5%. The company remains fully dedicated to restoring production capabilities, and its full-year outlook remains unaltered.
