Microsoft has announced the impending shutdown of its Microsoft Defender VPN service, akin to Cloudflare WARP, citing low user adoption as the primary reason. The company intends to redirect its resources towards features that promise higher user engagement. In an official statement, Microsoft highlighted concerns regarding the "usage" and "effectiveness" of Defender VPN. Effective February 1, the VPN will no longer be included with Microsoft 365 subscriptions in certain regions, and by February 28, the service will cease operations entirely across all supported platforms, including Windows 11, Windows 10, macOS, Android, and iOS.
