The month of January 2025 witnessed a surge in private equity firms' research endeavors within the A-share market, as they vigorously pursued investment opportunities. According to data compiled by the Private Equity Ranking Network, an impressive 645 private equity firms engaged in research activities throughout the month, casting their nets over 294 companies spanning 90 Shenwan second-tier industries. This amounted to a total of 1,694 research visits, marking a 4.7% uptick from the preceding month. In terms of industry focus, the semiconductor sector emerged as the clear frontrunner, with 20 listed companies attracting a whopping 230 research visits—a figure that significantly outpaced other industries, underscoring the heightened interest of private equity firms in this dynamic sector.
