As reported by ETNews, Apple's manufacturing partners have initiated the packaging process for the upcoming M5 chips. Leveraging TSMC's advanced 3nm node (N3P) technology, these chips are anticipated to offer a 5% performance enhancement and a 5-10% improvement in energy efficiency. With this generation, Apple is prioritizing the enhancement of AI performance, leading to expectations of a significantly more powerful Neural Processing Unit (NPU). In comparison to the M3 engine's 18 TOPS, the M4's Neural Engine already witnessed a substantial increase to 38 TOPS, and the M5 is poised to further elevate this capability.
