NVIDIA has revealed in the update log for the CUDA 12.8 development kit that the support for three legacy architectures—Maxwell, Pascal, and Volta—has reached its final stage, with future releases "freezing" any further updates. This announcement signifies that while these architectures will remain supported within the CUDA development kit, no additional features will be introduced. Specifically, the Maxwell architecture powers the GTX 750 and 9 series graphics cards, Pascal underpins the GTX 10 series, and Volta includes the Titan V. Notably, game drivers will persist in supporting these architectures, albeit without notable new features or performance enhancements.
