On January 14, Shenzhen Hytera Communications Co., Ltd. entered into a plea agreement in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, acknowledging its guilt in stealing trade secrets related to digital mobile radio technology from Motorola Solutions Inc. Pursuant to the agreement, Hytera is liable to a maximum fine of $60 million and is mandated to reimburse Motorola for losses incurred as a result of the technology theft. The exact amount of compensation will be decided during the sentencing, scheduled to take place in November 2025.
