Recently, CALB issued an announcement revealing that it had received a civil complaint from the Intermediate People's Court of Quanzhou City, Fujian Province. The plaintiff, Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Ltd. (CATL), accused CALB and other defendants of violating its patent rights pertaining to a utility model related to battery modules, specifically patent number ZL201621122034.9. CATL demanded that CALB immediately cease the alleged infringements and pay compensation amounting to 60 million yuan for economic losses and an additional 1 million yuan for reasonable expenses. In response, CALB clarified that the patent in question pertains to the structure of battery modules and asserted that its products do not infringe upon this patent. CALB has further initiated a request for invalidation of the patent with the National Intellectual Property Administration, which has been duly accepted. As of now, the case has yet to be heard in court.
