During a regular press briefing on January 15, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Guo Jiakun addressed a query from a Bloomberg reporter concerning the United States' proposed new measures aimed at restricting the export of advanced chips to China by companies like TSMC, Samsung, and Intel. Guo highlighted that these measures would require enhanced scrutiny, particularly of end-user reviews. China has consistently articulated its stern stance on this issue, emphasizing that the United States is politicizing, securitizing, and weaponizing economic, trade, and technological matters by continuously tightening export controls on chips destined for China and pressuring other nations to curb China's semiconductor industry. Such actions not only impede the global semiconductor industry's progress but will ultimately undermine the United States' own interests.
