Nomura Securities: NVIDIA Anticipates Slowing Demand Across Multiple Products, Forecasting Annual Reduction of 50,000 CoWoS-S Units
2025-01-15

Taiwan Economic Daily reports that NVIDIA has scaled back its orders for TSMC's CoWoS technology. Despite this, supply chain insiders maintain that there have been no notable alterations in TSMC's CoWoS equipment orders. Nevertheless, a subsequent analysis by Nomura Securities revealed that NVIDIA has ceased production of its Hopper platform chips due to limited demand for the latest GB200A and sluggish demand growth for GB300A. Consequently, NVIDIA has significantly curtailed its 2025 CoWoS-S bookings with both TSMC and UMC, projecting an annual decline of 50,000 CoWoS-S units.
