At the CES 2025 event, Taiwanese semiconductor manufacturer ASMedia unveiled its latest innovations. Among these, the ASM58012, a power-efficient and budget-friendly PCIe 4.0 switch chip, garnered significant interest. This chip is poised to elevate the PCIe expansion capabilities of consumer motherboards, enabling applications such as multi-GPU setups and high-capacity SSD storage arrays. Furthermore, ASMedia introduced the ASM2464PDX, a USB4 device controller chip that leverages PCIe tunneling technology. This allows PCs to seamlessly connect external graphics cards through USB4 interfaces, offering plug-and-play convenience and enhanced computing performance.
