During the fourth quarter of 2024, AMD processors secured a remarkable 55% share of sales in customer orders placed with Puget Systems, surpassing Intel for the first time in four years. This surge is primarily fueled by the substantial increase in AMD's consumer-grade processor sales, which rose from 20% at the start of the year to nearly 40% by its conclusion. Additionally, AMD's Ryzen Threadripper held a dominant 90% market share in the workstation segment during the fourth quarter. It is important to note that these figures solely reflect the preferences of Puget Systems' clientele, who predominantly purchase high-end machines for content creation and scientific research, and they do not encompass servers or mobile devices. In terms of operating systems, Windows 11 continues to dominate with an installation rate of 90%, while Linux, despite experiencing growth, still lags significantly behind Windows 11 in demand.
