United States Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo announced on January 10 that Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) has initiated the production of 4-nanometer chips for American clients at its Arizona facility. Initially planned to commence mass production of these advanced chips in the first half of 2024, the timeline has been shifted to early 2025 due to challenges including a shortage of skilled labor. Nonetheless, the factory has now started operations, with an initial estimated monthly production capacity of 10,000 wafers.
