SAMR: Establishing and Implementing Robust Quality Certification Systems Across Multiple Sectors
2025-01-10

On January 10, Shu Wei, Deputy Director of the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR), announced that the Administration's primary focus in 2024 will be on reinforcing industrial chain construction and enhancing supply chain quality. Key initiatives involve the establishment of quality certification systems encompassing crop seeds, robots, automotive chips, and intelligent connected vehicles. Furthermore, SAMR plans to broaden the scope of certifications for cybersecurity, Beidou products, and green products. Currently, the green product certification catalog embraces 113 product types, with 8,500 enterprises having secured a total of 35,000 green product certification certificates. To foster green and low-carbon development, SAMR is expediting the development of a "dual carbon" certification system and launching a pilot carbon footprint labeling certification program for ten product categories, including lithium batteries and photovoltaic products.
