CATL Initiates Legal Action Against CALB and XPeng Motors for Battery Patent Infringement

Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Ltd. (CATL) has initiated legal proceedings against CALB Technology Group Co., Ltd. and Quanzhou Zhipeng Automobile Sales Service Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of XPeng Automobile Sales Co., Ltd., for allegedly infringing upon a utility model patent. The case is scheduled to be heard at the Intermediate People's Court of Quanzhou City, Fujian Province, on January 24. This is not the first time CATL has taken legal action against CALB, having previously sued the company on multiple occasions, seeking a total compensation exceeding 100 million yuan.
