CAS Researchers Develop Metal-Nonmetal Substitution Solid Solution
2025-01-09

A research team headed by Yang Jun, a distinguished scientist at the Institute of Process Engineering at the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), has achieved a groundbreaking advancement by successfully phosphorylating platinum (Pt) nanoparticles with trioctylphosphine (TOP). This innovative process replaces some Pt atoms with phosphorus (P) atoms, resulting in the formation of a Pt-P substitution solid solution. This research holds promise for the design and enhancement of metallic materials and alloys, catering to diverse application needs. It marks a significant milestone in the realm of materials science and engineering.
