Yangtze Memory Technologies Co. (YMTC), China's largest NAND flash memory manufacturer, is pushing to raise the localization rate of its semiconductor equipment. Reuters reported on November 6, citing people familiar with the matter, that the company plans to source at least 60%—with a target of 70%—of the equipment for its fourth wafer fab in Wuhan from domestic suppliers. That would mark an increase from the just-over-50% level at its third plant.
