Anthropic has previously leveraged its AI models to uncover critical cybersecurity vulnerabilities and drive transformation across the software programming industry. Now, the company is venturing into new territory by attempting to design its own AI chips. Its newly formed 15-person chip design team has been using Claude to carry out engineering and design work for custom chips. Engineers found that, compared with the traditional processes employed by major chip designers such as Nvidia and AMD, Claude can significantly shorten chip design timelines. Meanwhile, Anthropic is preparing to launch an IPO later this month, at which point its valuation could reach $1.5 trillion.
