Musk has reportedly softened his stance on cooperating with TSMC over the Terafab project, and the two sides are preparing to return to the negotiating table. Under the emerging arrangement, TSMC could gain greater control over the project and assume primary responsibility for fab construction and operations, while equity ownership and investment terms remain under discussion. Musk had previously said publicly that Tesla and SpaceX would run the Terafab project independently, with TSMC at most leasing part of the site. TSMC CEO C.C. Wei, for his part, had made it clear that any cooperation would be contingent on TSMC taking charge of factory operations.
