South Korea's Ministry of Data and Statistics announced on Friday that industrial output grew 3% month-on-month in September, marking the largest single-month increase since March 2011. Mining and manufacturing output rose 9% month-on-month, with semiconductor production up 19.2%—the largest increase since February (28.2%)—mainly driven by increased production of memory chips such as DRAM. Retail sales and facility investment also increased.
