On October 26th, the A-share memory sector witnessed notable adjustments, with stock prices of certain companies plummeting by more than 40%. Nevertheless, CCTV Business correspondents discovered, upon inquiry at the Huaqiangbei market, that spot prices for memory modules have not exhibited significant signs of decline. Presently, the quoted price for a 16G DDR5 memory module generally hovers between 1400 and 1600 yuan. Meanwhile, 32G memory modules are priced anywhere from 2000 to over 3000 yuan, and 1TB solid-state drives are quoted between 800 and over 1000 yuan. Despite experiencing a certain degree of retracement (or correction) from their earlier peaks, overall prices continue to remain relatively high.
Correspondents observed that the drop in memory sales has been more pronounced than the fluctuations in prices. Several merchants reported a general decline in sales ranging from 20% to 30% since October. Industry analysts ascribe the minor price adjustments in the memory market primarily to the financial strain endured by some channel distributors, who are compelled to liquidate their inventory to recover funds. However, due to the high costs incurred during procurement, the magnitude of price reductions is constrained. This has led to a market scenario marked by stable quoted prices, sluggish transactions, and localized instances of price inversions. At present, inventory and financial pressures are mounting across the entire distribution channel.
