On October 14, analysts at Citigroup stated that ASML, the Dutch semiconductor equipment manufacturer, is planning to expand its chip manufacturing equipment capacity, and some customers have already expressed interest in placing orders for 2029 and 2030. This indicates that the company's visibility into future demand is continuously improving. Currently, market discussions about ASML are gradually focusing on the scale of capacity expansion from 2028 onwards, as well as the potential profit margin improvements driven by rising equipment prices and increased adoption rates of high-end lithography machines. ASML's Chief Financial Officer, Roger Dassen, revealed that the company has completed pricing negotiations with major customers, with the impact of price adjustments expected to gradually take effect starting in 2027. Citi believes that as customers clarify their long-term equipment procurement needs, market attention on ASML is shifting from short-term orders to the potential for long-term capacity growth and the room for profit margin improvements driven by changes in high-end equipment sales and pricing.
