In October 2026, the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is set to discuss a draft proposal for new regulations on the 29th of that month. This proposal stipulates that all testing, certification, and laboratory accreditation processes for FCC-authorized radio frequency devices must be carried out within the United States or in 'reciprocal economies'—countries that have established mutual recognition agreements with the U.S. Should this proposal be approved, the new restrictions will come into force on December 1, 2028. It's important to note that, as of now, the draft has not yet been implemented, and its final provisions are subject to change.
