On October 8, the primary Hong Kong stock indices exhibited a lackluster performance throughout the trading session, commencing with a lower opening and persisting in a downward trend. By the market's close, the Hang Seng Index had witnessed a decline of 1.43%, whereas the Hang Seng Tech Index experienced a more pronounced drop of 2.89%, marking a fresh low since September 2024. On that particular day, the aggregate market turnover for the Hang Seng Index amounted to HK$207.255 billion.

Analyzing the performance of sector-specific stocks, it becomes evident that large-model concept stocks fared poorly. MINIMAX-W (00100.HK) witnessed a significant drop exceeding 13%, while Zhipu (02513.HK) saw its value decline by over 7%. The semiconductor and optical communication concept stocks also predominantly trended downwards. Hua Hong Semiconductor (01347.HK) experienced a decrease of more than 9%, with both GigaDevice (03986.HK) and Longsys (09976.HK) falling over 7%. HaiGuang Xinzheng (01191.HK) dropped by more than 13%, and both YOFC (06869.HK) and Kingboard Laminates (01888.HK) saw their values decline by over 6%.
