On October 7, Lip-Bu Tan, the CEO of Intel, announced that the company would maintain its collaboration with Musk to propel the Terafab project forward. Earlier, Musk had disclosed that discussions were in progress with TSMC concerning potential cooperation on the Terafab project—a revelation that momentarily shook investor confidence in Intel. Nevertheless, it's worth noting that Intel had already committed itself as a development partner for the Terafab project back in April of this year.

During an interview prior to a company commemorative event in Tokyo, Lip-Bu Tan reiterated Intel's enduring commitment to the project. The Terafab project stands as a pivotal component of a worldwide endeavor, spearheaded by governments and enterprises alike, to bolster production capacity for essential components such as semiconductors. Its overarching goal is to expedite the deployment of artificial intelligence applications. Furthermore, this project marks Musk's inaugural foray into the realm of state-of-the-art chip manufacturing.
