On October 6th, AMD's CEO, Lisa Su, remarked on Tuesday that the overall CPU market is poised for substantial growth by 2026. Despite AMD's concurrent efforts to ramp up supply and production capacity, she noted that "demand continues to outstrip supply," and the scarcity of memory chips remains a pressing issue. The company is committed to further expanding its production capabilities, with plans to substantially increase supply by 2027. AMD's capacity planning horizon with its supply chain partners has lengthened from the previous one-to-two-year timeframe to a more strategic three-to-five-year outlook. Lisa Su disclosed that she has engaged in proactive discussions with key partners, including Acer, ASUS, Foxconn, and Quanta, and has scheduled a meeting with TSMC for the afternoon. Furthermore, Lisa Su underscored the transformative potential of artificial intelligence for global advancement, emphasizing the importance of collaboration among leading AI firms in the United States. She highlighted that there is still considerable work ahead in ensuring safe innovation, and the establishment of the U.S. "Superintelligence Task Force" marks a significant stride in the right direction.
